So the storm damaged your roof- what do you do?

  1. Don’t panic!
  2. Don’t go up on your roof. It is dangerous and many times you can’t spot the damage.
  3. Look at the house from the ground, for visible hail damage on your home.
    1. Dented or cracked shingles
    2. Dents in metal.
    3. Roof Leaks.
    4. Missing shingles
    5. Shingle granular piles at downspouts.
    6. Siding & paint dings, dents, chip, cracks & holes.
  4. Have a professional inspect the roof for damages.
  5. Beware of scams, Storm chasers, and Out of State Contractors.
  6. Do not hire someone who knocks at your door.
  7. Hire only locally owned
    1. Licensed
    2. Fully Insured
    3. Registered in your state
    4. Physical company address (no P.O. Boxes)
    5. Never give anyone upfront cash (only pay when work is in progress)
    6. Use caution if they show up on convicted criminal list.
  8. If they inspect and find damages from the storm.
  9. Have your insurance company inspect the roof. An insurance adjuster will come to your home and inspect your roof for you. Be aware some insurance companies will list a claim on your record, even if no damages are found. Check with you agent.
